Ask about opening the existing lock. Replacement is not automatically the same job as access.
Keys are missing
Discuss opening and rekeying as separate decisions. Ask whether the missing key will still work afterward.
The lock or door is damaged
Describe what happened and request an assessment. A new cylinder alone may not resolve a damaged door or frame.
